In this help page, we will be describing how you may make use of ClassDo’s tools to participate in mixed-style lesson plans.
This page is a continuation of the previous page: How to conduct educator-led lesson plans.
Get responses from learners
You may get your learners to raise their hands to ask questions, or respond to questions via the chat. The raise hands button is included as the third button in the first half of the right panel,
while the chat button is available as the first button on the second half of the right panel.
Polls
You may choose to integrate your Google Form as a ClassDo tab. This method works especially when you wish to save the poll data.
Alternatively, you could hold TikTok-styled quick polls, where students can react to the poll without having to touch their keyboard or mouse!
Compare the differences between Forms and Polls below:
Form | Quick Poll |
Can capture the responses of multiple questions. | Can only capture the responses of one question. |
Can capture responses to multiple question types, including open-ended, scalar, multiple-choice questions etc. | Can only capture responses to multiple-choice questions. |
Input into form is only available through text. | Input into poll by hovering your finger over icons. |
Is linked to Google Form. | Does not require a Google Form. |
Brainstorming or Icebreakers
Verbal introductions or discussions of one’s own thoughts on a topic are ineffective and inefficient. If there are 30 participants, and each takes 1 minute to speak, it would require 30 mins, and no one would remember who said what.
We would suggest that instead, you could get your learners to collaborate on filling up a sticky board. This is done in just 5 minutes, with everyone participating at once. This saves time and engages all students at once!
You would see something like this:
You may do this with the sticky notes function on sketchpads.
Other than placing stickies on sketchpads, you may also get learners to comment on their opinions by having them annotate on the sketchpad directly!
