Using ClassDo's Different Modes and Multi-device Feature

ClassDo allows you to enter the virtual room from multiple devices simultaneously, and from different modes. This offers you plenty of flexibility in using ClassDo both online and offline while saving on costs.Have a look at how ClassDo can boost your efficiency and open up new ways of using your devices!

1

Touchscreen Support Using Your Mobile Device

There are multiple ways of drawing and writing in the virtual room without having to fumble with your mouse. But if the device you are using to video chat does not have a touchscreen, and you do not have specialised hardware such as drawing tablets or styluses, you can use the touchscreen of your mobile device instead!

  1. On your main device, enter the room with the first option: Work with Others: ✔ Audio, Video on this device. You will be using this device to video chat.
  2. On your mobile device (tablet/ smartphone), log in to ClassDo on the same account. Enter the room with the second option: Work with Others: ✖ No Audio, Video on this device

Your mobile device will remain in sync with the room. If the room is set to Presentation or Collaboration Sync mode, you will view the same page as everyone else. All annotations that you make in the room with your mobile device will appear on everyone else's screens.

2

Mobility in the Physical Space

Even when using technology in the physical space, you might still have to stay near the computer or whiteboard throughout your presentation. But with ClassDo, control the virtual room and annotate documents remotely from your mobile device, even while your computer remains plugged into the projector. This lets you move around freely to give a more engaging presentation, or if you are a teacher, check on your students while teaching.

  1. Members in the physical room who are using ClassDo should enter the room under Work with others: ✖ Audio, video on this device.
  2. On your computer, enter the room under Work with Others: ✖ No Audio, Video on this device.
  3. On your mobile device, log in to ClassDo on the same account, and also enter the room with the second option: Work with Others: ✖ No Audio, Video on this device.

When the room is set to Presentation or Collaboration Sync mode, when you change tabs or annotate using your mobile device, all changes will be reflected on your computer screen.

Check Documents in the Virtual Room Discreetly

Keeping the room in Presentation or Collaboration Sync mode ensures everyone is always on the same page, but it can make it disruptive or impossible for you to review other resources in the room during a presentation. However, you can easily do so by entering the room on other device (or simply by opening a new tab) to view the documents in the room!

  1. You can enter the room again on:
    1. the device you are using to video chat by opening a new tab or window. However, note that you will continue to be video chatting on the original tab, so you may want to view both windows side-by-side on your screen if possible.
    2. a separate device e.g. your mobile device
  2. Log in to ClassDo on the same account, and enter the room with the last option: Work on my Own.

In Work on my Own mode, you can now switch tabs and view documents freely on another tab/ window/ device without affecting your live collaboration.

Remote Joining

Allow guests or absentees to join in you and your room members in the physical space by using a mix of two modes in ClassDo.

  1. Members in the physical room who are using ClassDo should enter the room under Work with others: ✖ Audio, video on this device.
  2. On your own device, enter the room with the first option: Work with others: ✔ Audio, video on this device. Your guest/ absentees joining remotely must also enter the room under this option.
  3. Note that your device will be streaming video and audio to your guests/ absentees.
    1. Guest/Absentee is a presenter or active participant: the device should face the rest of the room and be connected to a projector and sound system if possible so that they can be seen and heard clearly.
    2. You are the presenter: the device should face you. A mobile device can be used to stream the video and audio, while the computer connected to the projector should be under the Work with others: ✖ Audio, video on this device mode.
  4. You can also use another device to control the virtual room and annotate documents remotely by entering under Work with others: ✖ Audio, video on this device.
