Use a Poll in the Content Library

A poll is the perfect tool to get an immediate estimate on your room members' opinions, knowledge and progress. Choose between multiple choice and open-ended questions to craft your poll and get the answers you need.

You can even take into account the current situation in the room by creating or editing a poll during the live session itself .

1

Create a Poll

To use this tutorial, you need to be in the Organisation Screen. The associated controls are at the  right of the screen. However, you can also create a poll in the virtual room.

On the room homepage, click on  View Content Library to visit the content library for a particular room.

Alternatively, you may locate and click on Content Library on the left sidebar and locate the room folder to access the contents within the room.

Select the folder which you would like to create the poll in. Before creating the poll, you may want to check if you wish to create it in the room library or your personal desk. This is just to keep the library more organised for you when you are looking for the files later. If you are creating it in the room, you may also need to check if you are in the correct group as files in one group cannot be shared between one another.

Click on Poll on the right panel.

Alternatively, click on the New button.

Select Poll from the list of options given in the dropdown.

The poll will open up automatically in the content editor.

You can click on the back button to return to the content library.

2

Name the Poll

To rename the poll, simply click on the file name to toggle the input field. You can name your poll by typing in the text box. When you are done renaming, simply press enter/return on your keyboard or click anywhere outside the input field.

You can also rename the poll from the content library. Locate the poll from the list of files in the content library and select the  Additional options button (three-dot icon).

Click on Rename from the list of options available in the dropdown.

When you are done renaming the content, click on Update.

You can also rename others' polls.

Choose Question Type

Click  Question Type to choose how you want the other members of the room to answer. Select the option you wish to use from the drop-down list.

Multiple choice will only allow respondents to choose one option per question.

Checkboxes will allow respondents to choose more than one option per question.

Text will require respondents to type out their answers.

4

Fill in Your Question

When the draft of a poll is created, type the question you want to ask in the " Question" input field.

5

Craft Your Options

For polls using Multiple choice and Checkboxes, you are able to provide options for the respondents to choose. Type the answer options in the  "Option" input fields.

Click  Add Option at the bottom of the poll to create more options.

Click the Cross icon beside an option to delete the option.

6

Release and Close the Poll

When all the details are filled up, click  Launch Poll to allow respondents to respond. Note that after a poll has been launched, you can no longer edit it.

When you want to end the poll, click  Close Poll. Note that after a poll has been closed, it cannot be opened again.

7

Text

For Text question type, the responses of each member will be shown. The results are visible to you even if the poll is not yet closed, but are not visible to other members in the room.

8

Delete a Poll

To delete a poll, click on the vertical arrow icon to the right of the file name.

Then, click on the  Delete content button.

In the popup, click on the Delete button to confirm your deletion.

Alternatively, you can also delete the poll from the content library. Click on the  Additional options button (three-dot icon) to the right of the file name.

In the dropdown, select Delete content.

In the popup, click on the Delete button to confirm your deletion.

Call Out a Previous Poll
