Run Manual Device Test


You can run the device test manually at any time if you want to ensure you are device-ready without having to enter the virtual room, or if you want to run the test after having opted to skip the auto device test in the future.

Access Manual Device Test


Access your user settings by clicking the Settings icon at the bottom left next to your username.

Click Test your device.

Browser Test

If you are using either Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari browser and your browser is up to date, this test will take just a few seconds and you will automatically move on to the next test. 

If you fail the browser test, make sure to use a supported browser or update your browser version.

Webcam Test

The browser may prompt you that "ClassDo wants to use your camera".

You must click Allow to use ClassDo. You can switch off your video after you have entered the room.

If you have already blocked it, follow these steps to re-enable your camera.

Click Next if you can see yourself in the videoscreen. If your device does not have a camera, you can still click Next and continue to the microphone test.

If you cannot see yourself, ensure:

  • the correct webcam is selected
  • you have connected your webcam to your computer if you are using an external webcam.
Then click Refresh icon. If you still cannot see yourself,  click  Check out our troubleshooting guide and follow the suggested steps to troubleshoot.

Microphone Test

The browser may prompt you that "ClassDo asks to use your microphone".

You must click Allow. You can switch off your audio after you have entered the room.

Unlike camera, you must have a microphone to enter the room.

Speak a few words and if you observe the volume bar moving as your speak, click Next. If you are not able to, ensure the correct microphone is selected or click the Refresh icon on the right side.

If the volume bar still does not move as you speak, click Check out our troubleshooting guide and follow the suggested steps to troubleshoot.

Speaker Test


Turn up the volume of your speaker and click the Play button in the centre of the video. If you can hear the video's audio, click Next

Device test completed

You have completed the device test. Leave the box checked if you want to continue to run the device test manually in future only when needed. Click Back to Organisation to return to the Room Landing Page.
